I have read many paranormal romance novels including many vampire romance. I have to say that Ms. Johns really blew me out of the water with the way that she told this story. The writing of this story is that of a journal. The main character, Light, is struggling with the fact that his lover is dying and no longer remembers him. So he decides to re-tell their story hoping that she will remember.

This was a very interesting take on paranormal. It takes a bit to get used to the way that the main character Light speaks, but once you are able to understand the book flows very, very well. The characters are very well defined, the author was able to make me feel the pain that he was going through. At times this novel was just gut wrenching, but beautiful in its own way.

I would recommend Blood Dragons if you are looking for a very interesting take on the whole vampire romance. Very well written and leaves you ready for the next book. I highly recommend this book.
